The Wakulla County School District is experiencing a disruption in our district information systems as a result of a ransomware incident, which began late last week. Our insurance provider and their forensic team advised us that we could notify the public of the incident.  After discovering the attack, we immediately launched an investigation with the assistance of a leading forensic firm, and we have been working diligently to secure our systems and bring them back online. We also reported the incident to state and federal law enforcement authorities.  As we work to complete the investigation, we will look for opportunities to further enhance our existing security measures.  We appreciate your patience as we work through this incident.

District email has been affected and is currently an unreliable way to communicate. At this time, the best way to ensure communication is through telephone. This incident comes on the heels of similar attacks in our region and nationwide.  When a ransomware attack occurs, the criminal intent is not to steal data, but to render the data inaccessible through encryption, then require payment in order to acquire the key to unlock the data.  Once again, we want to thank you for your patience and apologize for any inconvenience as we work to return our information systems back to normal.

Cougar Pride

Every Friday at CES is Spirit Day!  Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to show their Cougar pride by wearing our school t-shirt.  T-shirts are on sale at the Front Office desk.  Also, students can purchase Cougar tattoos on Friday mornings for 25 cents each or 5/$1.00.  All tattoo proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

Hands holding the World

PLEDGE:
"I am an important person and part of the caring community at Crawfordville Elementary.  I pledge to show respect for all students regardless of difference, make responsible choices, and be someone others can trust.  I am proud to be a Crawfordville Cougar!"

Written by Mr. Jeff Van Syckle, our Guidance Counselor

VISION:  "Our focus is to create an atmosphere of warmth, trust, and respect by continuously role modeling and helping others understand the importance of such an atmosphere.  We will lead students to believe in themselves by using data to show their strengths, data to help them set goals, and data to plan instruction so that students CAN meet their goals.  We will know students, take an interest in our students, and appreciate the diversity of our students.  Only positive, professional, productive approaches will be used towards parents, students and colleagues in order to establish and maintain the needed teamwork that it takes to succeed."

Seven habits of Happy Kids

Did You Know?

*Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school - and themselves.

*How many absences are too many?   10% of the school year - that’s 18 missed days or 2 days a month.

*Classroom instruction begins as soon as the morning bell rings at 8:55.

*Every student counts.  Your child's attendance helps his/her classroom meet their attendance goal...and earn special rewards!
